Miranda Bailey began her entertainment career as an actress in New York, appearing in numerous theatrical productions before moving to Los Angeles. In 2000 she founded Ambush Entertainment, a Los Angeles based independent film development and production company.

She was an executive producer of the critically acclaimed drama The Squid and the Whale (2005) which was nominated for best original screenplay at the 2006 Academy Awards and Best Picture in comedy or musical at the Golden Globes.

Miranda's producing projects include Every Day, starring Liev Schreiber and Helen Hunt, as well as Super starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, and Kevin Bacon. She also acted in Answers to Nothing, starring Dane Cook and Elizabeth Mitchell.
